Open Letter to all my Lebanese friends

June 16, 2009

Dear Lebanese friend

I am sure you have seen the awful images circulated on the news and internet, images captured by millions of Iranians and sent out to the world, so at least someone could hear their side of story as well. Images and video shots that are ignored by the government run TV!

I hope  you have seen the massive demonstrations in Tehran, people risking their life to come out and demand their constitution right. The right to a fair and free elections.

These people you see in the videos protesting are my borders and sisters, my family , my classmates, my childhood friends, they were born, raised and studied in Iran under the Islamic Republic. They are tired of  a government that is policing their thoughts and dictating an ideology. An ideology witch doesn’t even match Islam !

We have heard multiple reports from all over Iran indicating that some of the police force that are hitting and killing peaceful protectors and break peoples cars and personal properties speak arabic, and they don’t even know farsi!

Yesterday it was confirmed that Hezbolah has sent 5000 troops to help Ahmadi nejad take over power in Iran. These troops were sent before the results of election were out! It clearly shows that Hezbollah and Ahmadi Nejad planned to take over Iran with the backup of Khamanei!

My dear Lebanese friend , hitting and killing defenseless people is not humane and defiantly not Islamic.  When we heard your Prime Minister Fouad Siniora’s congradulation statment to Ahmadinejad , it felt  like  being stabbed from the back!

Ahmadi nejad has sure tried to mislead a large group of people with his way of talking, and I admit he is good at this, but please open your eyes and your hearts see for yourself. this traitor is calling the protesters nothing but “dirt and dust” and opens fire in to peaceful protesters. His shameless police force even attached dorm rooms in every city killing defenseless students, and the burning the place down.

I am asking you to please send letters to your government and pressure them to condemn Ahmadinejad actions in Iran. Please write to Hezbolla’s members of parliaments in Lebanon and ask them to call back the 5000 troops. Ahmadi nejad is a criminal, don’t participate in his crimes.

Please help circulate this letter. This is a call for peace and a call for freedom

As a Lebanese citizen, I have been closely following what has been happening in Iran for the past few days. I see many parallels with your struggle now and our struggle in 2005. Please know that these traitors of humanity do not speak for us as a nation. We stand behind your nation’s fight for self-determination and freedom, these people do not represent us. The majority of Lebanese stand behind you but unfortunately the ignorant few see a prospering and democratic Iran as threatening to their needs (ie. weapons and the Iranian people’s money which is illegally funneled to support them). These people will stop at nothing to get to their means and our freedoms have been hijacked by them for years. We share your struggle and I am honestly ashamed today to hold the citizenship as these ‘people’. I also want to mention that not all of them are ‘Lebanese’ as some are also Iraqi.

The best to you in your struggle, please stay safe and never give up.

    Dana

Please note that the absolute majority of Lebanese stand with you and not against you, except Hizbolla supporters. Also, note that Hizbolla has a large army in the country and can create lots of troubles in Beirut. The fact that the PM of an outgoing government sent a protocol letter does not mean anything, and Najad for sure knows this and we the Lebanese know it too. If you win in Iran, we win in Lebanon too. The Lebanese and the Iranians have far more in common than what Hizbolla and the Najad junta have sown over the years. Right now our relationship consists of you sending us rockets and us sending our boys to die in a fruitless war which we are supposed to have won in 2000 already!!!

This is coming through a series of very unreliable sources and is quite likely in error.

There are groups in Lebanon and in Iran who are called Hezbollah but they are unrelated. It is more likely that the Hezbollah mentioned are Iranian Hezbollah as opposed to the Lebanese variety.

Face it, there are enough fanatics in Iran’s Basj groups to do all the violence that Khameni could ever hope for.

    Hey my friend,

I speak as concerned Lebanese citizen who has been following the Iranian news very close, while fully supporting the Iranian youth and their efforts to change the state of their country. This movement reminds me ever so vividly of the ‘Cedar Revolution’ that we launched in Lebanon four years ago after PM Harriri was assassinated. Please understand that the majority of the Lebanese people recently voted against Hezbollah and brought an anti-Hezbollah pro-Lebanon parliament to existence. However, you have to understand that the same Hezbollah members who are now in Tehran were taking the streets of Beirut this time last year terrorizing the citizens. In the Lebanese government there are Hezbollah ministers, and sometimes in politics you have to make concessions. It goes without any saying that I disprove of my PM’s congratulatory remarks to your illegitimate president, but you have to understand that PM Seniora is part of a political campaign that is against Hezbolla, and has suffered dearly after Hezbollah supporters occupied downtown Beirut, destroying our economy and wanting to overthrow Seniora. So please I urge you to understand the Lebanese scene a little more before you make rash judgments, and I once again say that I fully support all the movements the Iranian youths and people are currently doing. Peace and love from Beirut.

My friend, the Lebanese people are with you in your struggle! I will do everything I can to encourage protests in Lebanon, but it’s very dangerous with all the Hez. Rest assured we are with you in your struggle till the end. Solidarity from Lebanon!!

    Dear Friend,

I am as you say, a Lebanese Friend. That is to say I am Lebanese and sympathetic to your cause and I have been watching the developments intently. My heart cries out for the loss of life and the beatings and I hope that you can overcome this regime.

I am dismayed however at the the vitriol that is being directed towards the Lebanese. When you see Arabic speaking thugs in your street it is because they are from Hizbullah. They can barely be counted as Lebanese. Whether we like it or not, Iran’s main export to Lebanon over the last twenty years has been the terror of Hizbullah.

I am sad to say that neither the government of Lebanon nor its people can do anything about Hizbullah. They are more powerful than the state, and have more arms than the Lebanese Armed Forces.

Perhaps you recall last year how Hizbullah turned its weapons (purchased with Iranian funding) on the Lebanese. Perhaps you remember how they performed a sit-in for a year and brought the democratically elected government to its knees whilst being fully funded by Iran. Perhaps you remember the numerous bombing campaigns the Lebanese have had to endure every time your false government wanted to send a message through its proxy army in the south of Lebanon against Israel.

My friend, the fact is that Ahmedinejad and his predecessors have been all too successful in taking over Lebanon with tax proceeds from freedom loving citizens as yourself and the proceeds of the natural resources that are by right your own. My Prime Minister is a toothless figurehead. He may have limited authority within the boundaries of Lebanon but when it comes to foreign policy on Iran and Israel, he has no choice but to say and do what Hizbullah and its brainwashed animals expect of him.

My friend, Lebanon itself is almost torn in two because of the Hizbullah influence. We have had our own demonstrations to try and change the outcome. But we have seen too much blood in our lifetime and we will not move to the next step.

You see my friend, it is we the Lebanese that are looking eastward to Iran and to the great people of Persia for help. We need you to succeed and to change your foreign policy so that we ourselves can be free. The fact that these thugs are from Lebanon is inconsequential. We have a mini- velayet-e-faqih in our country and these men are an extension of your Basij. I am sorry for it.

I will send your email to as many people as I can. And I wish for safety and peace on you, your friends, your comrades and your families. Good luck. Do not give up. We cannot afford it.
